For over 40 years, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) has fought to repeal the Government Pension Offset (GPO) and Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), which unfairly impact law enforcement retirees. With overwhelming bipartisan support, H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act, passed the House 327-75. NAPO leaders joined Representatives Garret Graves (R-LA) and Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) to celebrate this milestone, but the fight isn’t over. NAPO now urges everyone to contact their senators and demand swift passage of H.R. 82 to secure retirement fairness for law enforcement officers and their families.
