Dear NAPO Members,
In a significant victory for NAPO, the House passed H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act, by an overwhelming vote of 325-75 this evening! Thank you for all of your advocacy, which has been essential to us getting the bill this far. We now turn our attention to the Senate, where we are calling on Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to take H.R. 82 up immediately.
We will continue to keep you updated on our efforts to enact the Social Security Fairness Act into law and finally repeal the GPO and WEP once and for all.
